The Printed Word Go Wild for Charity Golf Day

As you may know, here at The Printed Word we enjoy giving back to the community through our involvement with fundraising events and sponsorship of several charities. The latest event we supported was the fifth annual Born Free Foundation ‘Go Wild’ Golf Day – and what a spectacular day it was indeed!

Held at the beautiful Gatton Manor Golf Club last month, teams from around Sussex and Surrey took to the course in support of ‘Beyond the Bars’; a Born Free Foundation campaign focused on challenging the exploitation of wild animals in captivity. Although the day started with a misty morning, the low-visibility in the air didn’t stop the teams from exploring the 18-hole course and eventually, the sun began to shine just in time for a well-earned lunch break back at the club house!

The Printed Word’s owner, Rob Pryer, commented: “It was an absolute pleasure to support such an amazing charity and I am thrilled that the ‘Go Wild’ Golf Day was such a huge success! Well done to the Born Free Foundation and everyone who got involved.”

Born Free Foundation’s CEO, Howard Jones, was there to thank all the players and sponsors, which also included Tamron and Bartholomew Estate Agents. There were even some great prizes presented to a selection of lucky winners! The money raised – which is hoped to exceed £3,000 -  will go directly to support the animals in need.
